New Rob Interview With "Welt Online" (Germany)

Robert Pattinson: " My life without Twilight begins now..."
Robert Pattinson about his circus movie 'Water for Elephants", the circus around his person and the nicest co-star.
He has been in Berlin before. At that time Robert Pattinson was 17 and "Everything was different". And he doesn't mean just the city. Back then he could walk the streets alone. Nowadays he promotes his new movie 'Water for Elepehants' at the Hotel de Rome while thousands of Twilight fans compass the Bebelplatz.

Welt: When you woke up this morning, did you know in which city you are right now?
Rob: Honestly? I had no idea. And this happens to me quite often lately.

Welt: You're jetting around the world for a couple of years now. Do you actutally feel at home somewhere?
Rob: I don't even have a home right now. My parents cleared out my room in London, so I'm without a doss right now. I'll work on that. Hopefully.

Welt: If you had the choice, where would you like to wake up?
Rob: There's a cottage in the South of France, where I've been a couple of years ago. There was nothing in the area, I was all by myself. I'd like that.

Welt: You have a very execptional co-star in your new movie 'Water for Elephants'. How's it to work with a elephant?
Rob: It takes some of your self assurance away, no matter what kind of wild animal you're working with. Standing next to something this giant, makes you humble. On the other hand it seems like, that an elephant makes everyone happy. The whole crew became children again, trying to pet her all the time. Tai is a female elephant, she truly was the nices co star I've ever had. Kristen, forgive me.

Welt: Tai did something , a lot of your fans are envious about. She's was constantly touching you with her trunk, during the movie. Was is planned or did it just happen?
Rob: During the first weeks, we've trained with candy and soft candy so she'd follow me. After that she probably was convinced, that I always have them with me. She was constantly checking my pockets and every other place.

Welt: Does it have something methaporic? One should be a thick skinned person in the movie buisness?
Rob: Absolutely. I used to be at many auditions, you're one of 200, waiting for hours on your chance. And then they just take a glance at the first page of your application and tell you: No. If you've experiences this a hundred times, you immune to disappointment. You couldn't stand it without a sick skin.

Welt: After all those vampire-teen movies you're coming along with Water for Elephants and the upcoming Maupassant remake 'Bel-Ami'. Is this a ripening for you as an actor?
Rob: Yes, I hope so. I sill don't feel grown up. I do look more mature in 'Water'. I had to play the eternal 17 year old, trimmed to look like it, in the Twilight movies. Getting more mature roles is like a blessing. I must and have to prove that I can do it.

Welt: After three years of Twilight: Did you definitely wrap the fifth part?
Rob: Yes. A few days ago. It's done.

Welt: And did you celebrate it?
Rob: Kind of. People were constantly leaving the set so we've celebrated for quite some time. The last scene was just Kristen Stewart and me. It was on a warm, bright beach, a beautiful end after shooting five movies in the cold.

Welt: Are you looking forward to your life without Twilight?

Rob: It's not quite over yet. It takes some time until the 5th movie is out and promoted. But yes, it takes some weight off your shoulders. We've shot the last two movies right after another, the constant make-up and 'whitening' took a lot of time. But I might miss all of it. It was an important phase of my life, afterall.

Welt: Isn't the hype around you like a circus?
Rob: Sort of. You can't prevent it though. You're a little bit like a dressage horse, constantly keeping up an illusion. The worst time was when I did nothing. I just had to be there and stood around. The last time I went to Germany, I went into the Müncher Olympiastadion with Taylor Lautner and 30.000 girls were screaming. It was bizarre. Like a rockstar just without making music. They've told us to let them scream for 15 minutes until they'd lose their voices and then we went to the next event.

Welt: Would you've rejected the role of Edward Cullen if you knew about the massive hype beforehand?
Rob: Who knows. Maybe I'd have considered it. But I don't want to be ungrateful. The worst time of my life was when I had no job. I've asked myself: What are you doing here? I almost gave up. I didn't see a future despite my thick skin. But the industry is quite strange: back then I hit rock bottom. I thought this is my last shot, and there were 3000 competitors. But then I became Edward. And suddenly I can make the movies I've always wanted to make. That's my motiviation. I don't want to be a memory as the guy who played this vampire.

New Rob Interview With Bild.de (Germany)

Fate has bitten him. He is askew beautiful. Sleepy eyes. Angular head. Tousled hair. Stubble vampire-beard. Living lips. An innocent, shy, romantic smile. Perfect?!
Robert Pattinson (24, “ Twilight ”saga), the man with whom every woman wants to have breakfast. A mix of Hugh Grant, James Dean, and Jesus Christ beer-drinking vampire.

Hotel de Rome. Roof terrace. Bodyguard. Assistants – and “BILD”. He is tall, shy, open, relaxed, friendly, humble, loves to laugh and has a warm, careful voice. He drinks Coke.

He is wearing an outfit of “Hugo Boss”: “It was hanging as a gift in my suite – and my clothes were dirty.”

BILD: Describe yourself?
“I do not even know who I am. Earlier, before I became famous, it was easy. Now it’s hard. If you always have to talk about yourself, your character is exhausted. I am me.“

He came with Air Berlin from the Caribbean – no private jet. He travels with hand luggage: backpack, bag and guitar. He smokes, is allergic to hashish, and earned 27 million dollars last year. His life is dream and nightmare.

“I’m afraid to buy a house because then it would be besieged.” His success is his prison, he is on the run – from millions of fans.

His latest film “Water for Elephants” is a true mirror of his soul (last premiere in Berlin, Germany). Story: A young vet loses everything. He jumps on a circus train – and will grow up painfully. His love Reese Witherspoon. His opponent: Christoph Waltz!

A kind of “Gone with the Wind” on rails: “I felt so comfortable in the movie, because I could be me. I had little dialogue – but much to respond to. I felt almost naked, mentally.“

BILD: How do you live?
“I wake up and fall asleep. My most important friend is my alarm clock. I read books on my Kindle and my iPad2 “

BILD: Do you believe in fate?
“I think I do already, makes everything easier – you can do what you want.”

BILD: What does happiness mean to you?
“Simple things. I’m easy to make happy. A pizza and a sixpack of beer are enough.“

BILD: What is your most important possession?
“I do not own anything. I'm always carrying my Gibson electric guitar from 1963 with me. I love to lose my phone. Then you are so free! “
BILD: No vice?
“Sometimes I am obsessed. I hoard and collect things – but I don’t have a house. I put everything in storage houses. “

Oscar-Star Christoph Waltz comes.

BILD: What makes Rob unique?
“You only need to look at him“director Francis Lawrence laughs:” He has a secret, something magnetic. Only a camera can detect it and there are people who shine suddenly.” Robert Pattinson laughs – about himself.

BILD: Are you single or in love?
He laughs even more. His big blue eyes look at me. His teeth dazzle: “Well, yes, I am single but I am also in love.”

BILD: With whom?
He laughs, I laugh, we laugh, “Sometimes I feel like a native in the jungle. Such a question is like a photo of your soul. I will not have my soul be taken away/ stolen“

Take it with a grain of salt, as "Bild" is known for inventing fake quotes.

EW's preview of the article
Fans have waited years to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot, and the wedding scene, scheduled for the end of production on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, proved to be equally climactic for those involved. “It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done,” says Stewart. “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”

But filming wasn’t always quite so idyllic. As the stars and director tell EW, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 (in theaters November 18 and November 2012) involved a grueling, globe-trotting shoot, and scenes far darker, bloodier, and more polarizing than any in the franchise so far. If audiences haven’t matured with the Twilight books, they’re about to grow up fast. “We shot everything — whether it’s the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be,” says director Bill Condon, who knew he was working within the constraints of a PG-13 rating. “It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe.” For her part, Stewart wishes the movie could have been even truer to the graphic nature of the book — not so much the honeymoon sequence (“It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampire-y, which is good”), but the brutal birth of the baby, Renesmee. “It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex,” she says. “The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book.” She sighs: “I would have loved to have been puking up blood.”

Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, says that even being a member of the wolf pack didn’t have its privileges. “Everybody is always complaining to me that I don’t have to wear the contacts, I don’t have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I’m like, ‘I’m the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt! I paid my dues in New Moon and Eclipse.’” And as for his plot arc in Part 2, which will involve falling for — or imprinting on — Renesmee? “There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, ‘What exactly is imprinting?’” says Lautner. “It’s still a very confusing thing for me, so don’t ask.”

When the guys take advantage of Priya's skills in order to eat Greek food on pizza night, Sheldon goes to Penny, who invites him to a girls' night out with Amy and Bernadette, which Sheldon agrees to after Penny mentions that they may be talking trash about Priya. After the girls drink some cocktails, they decide to take Sheldon dancing, which Sheldon reluctantly goes along with. After dancing, Sheldon takes an intoxicated Amy back to her apartment and as well as talking about Priya, meets a monkey who is addicted to smoking cigarettes. Amy tells Sheldon not to give in to Priya's law skills, before kissing him and going to her bathroom to vomit.
The next day, Sheldon writes a more detailed edition of the roomate agreement and asks Leonard to sign it. When Leonard shows his reluctance, Sheldon activates a "self-destruct sequence" on his laptop, detailed in the way of Star Trek's voice command and display, if Leonard doesn't sign the agreement within a minute, it will send an e-mail to Priya's parents informing them of her relationship with him. Leonard believes that Sheldon is bluffing and doesn't see the harm in Priya's parents knowing, but Priya, knowing that her parents are against her dating an American, tells Leonard to sign the document before the timer runs out. Leonard finally agrees and Sheldon aborts the program. Later that day, Sheldon speaks with a hungover Amy via webcam and reprimands her slightly for drinking, but also thanks her for the advice that she gave him the night before, while Leonard argues with Priya about whether or not she's ashamed of him.

Title reference: Priya using her skills as a lawyer to nullify Leonard and Sheldon's roomate agreement.

NEW Interview With Rob With "Joy" (Germany) + Scans

JOY Magazine Germany:
"I'm quite a coward"
Robert Pattinson (24) takes a break of playing a vampire and discovered his heart for animals on set of his new movie.

You play a young vet who works for a travelling circus. Why did this role attract you?
"I liked just rolling around in the dirt the most. (laughs) My character in the 'Twilight' movies is so obsessional. I always have the same expression, I'm not allowed to change my face and never sweat. If I just have a tiny bead of sweat, suddenly five makeup artists bustle around me."

Was it difficult shooting with animals?
"It's probably similar to shooting with babies, they don't adhere to stage directions either. Elephants do whatever they want. Whenever I had unexpectedly a trunk in my face, I had to improvise spontaneously. "

Are you afraid of the wild animals?
"Oh yes, especially of the zebras, because they are so unpredictable. Once a zebra ran towards us and I ran away in panic. Later I heard that everyone made fun of me. Christoph Waltz always joked that he throw himself in front of Reese to save her life, while I apparently disappeared behind a caravan like a coward. (laughs)"

You've also filmed several scenes with a dog. Is that why you now have your own dog?
"Yes, after the shooting I directly adopted my four-legged friend from the animal shelter. He was going to be put down the next day. He's a mongrel and I'm still looking for a name. The poor was completely confused at the beginning: One day still in the shelter, the next day he's already in the privat jet from Vancouver, where I'm shooting 'Breaking Dawn' since 6 months, to LA and now lives in the 'Four Seasons'. (laughs)"

The dog has indeed taken over your heart at first sight. Do you also believe in love at first sight with women?
"Yes, because I've always noticed at the first meeting if a woman is something special. I absolutely believe in the big love - it's such a great feeling! When you're in love with someone, you want to show her all the time, that she's the best in the whole wide world."

Who did you have a crush on as a teenager?
"I was head over heels in love with Kate Moss."

Why do you actually never talk about your relationship to your co-star Kristen Stewart?
"I've never had the need to reveal my love life. I cured of that already when I was 12. At that time I asked a girl out and the other day everybody was whispering and laughing in school. What a fuss! It was so childish and embarrassing, so that I've never spoken to that girl again. (laughs) The more people know about you, the more they also speculate about the rest. That also has a devastating effect on the stock exchange. (laughs)"

Do you understand that many people envy your great life?
"Just because they don't know it in detail. My life is actually pretty boring. I work all day, live in hotels, sit in airplanes or sleep in the car."

Do you do something about arranging your hotel room a bit more personal?
I always have my guitar collection with me. Unfortunately I can't practise until late at night, the shooting start too early. And I always take my own TV with me, the ones in the hotel suck. Meanwhile I own around 5,000 DVDs - from which I haven't seen 4,000. That's an advantage when you spend much time alone in hotels: I'm becoming a real movie connoisseur. (laughs)"

Please credit if you post the translation & scans on your website, thank you :)

Press Junket

(being adorable in a not dubbed video)

Looking a little bit as if he hasn't had enough sleep, but being very cheerful, he talks about his new movie and Berlin.
On Berlin:
"I love Berlin. I was 19 when I was here the last time and it's been one of the best holidays of my life. I'd also like to do something today if time allows it. Yesterday I diddn't do anything, I slept the entire day."
 Why Jacob's role attracted him:
"Jacob is my age and knows excatly who he is and what he wants to do with his life. But I feel like I don't know myself at all at 24."
On quitting acting:
"After every movie I think about quit acting. I've just wrapped the last Twilight movie and I'll start filming another movie just after this press tour. As soon as I wrap a movie I think 'Why do I always film another movie just after I've wrapped the last one? That's crazy'. But now I'm really looking forward to the next shooting. Towards the end I always think I don't have enough energy for the next movie, but suddenly it comes all back as soon as I wrapped the last one."
 On jumping on trains:
"I'd quite like to jump on a train which ends up in the Maledives. I'd just lay on the beach and do nothing. All I need is a pizzeria and a beach bar next door." (laughs)
On the Royal Wedding:
"I am a little bit offended that I wasn't invited. I think it's a beautiful event. I understand why everyone kinda projecs their fantasies on to it, it does seem like a fairytale that becomes true."
