Everyone is Talking About the Best Kiss

-Nina Dobrev talks about the best kiss award - mentions Rob and Kristen

-Emma Watson 'Couldn't Compete' With Pattinson/Lautner Kiss

So you could imagine what it must have been like for the "Harry Potter" stars who were actually on hand for the Movie Awards -- like, for example, Emma Watson, who not only lost Best Female Performance to Kristen Stewart, but didn't even get to see the kiss between Pattinson and Lautner.

"I missed this moment! I came out, and they were like, 'Rob just missed Taylor!' and I was like, 'Damn!' " Watson told MTV News' Josh Horowitz following the show. "I was still backstage [after introducing the 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2'] clip, so I missed it. But, I mean, yeah, good on them!"

And as if missing out on the kiss-to-end-all-kisses wasn't bad enough, the whole lip-locking theme of the night had Watson feeling left out. Seems she was the only person who didn't have someone to kiss.

"I mean, I was really up against it. Kristen [Stewart] had two kisses, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman making out," she laughed. "I mean, I couldn't really compete!"

- Eclipse Co-Stars talk about Rob & Taylor

Tags: MTV Shows

The biggest shocker to come out of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 5) was hands down that Robert Pattinson treated Taylor Lautner to a smooch almost as passionate as the ones in the Golden Popcorn-winning "Twilight Saga" films.

But while it came as a surprise to those of us watching the awards show, the stars of this year's nominated "Eclipse" said it was about time the two onscreen rivals shared a kiss. "It was about damn time, man. It's been up in the air for about three years now. I think we've all been waiting for Rob and Taylor to kiss," Jackson Rathbone told MTV News when we caught up with him backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. "We knew it was coming, and finally it did. Finally, they acknowledged their love for each other."

Rathbone's vampire brother Kellan Lutz admitted he was a bit surprised, but their co-star Peter Facinelli shared a little secret about how the RPattz/Taylor smooch went off without a hitch.

"They asked us to show them in practice," Facinelli said. "We taught them everything they know," Lutz confirmed.

Nikki Reed chimed in, saying she wanted to see some visual proof of the tale Lutz and Facinelli were weaving. "Let's re-enact that!" she begged, but the duo passed, insisting Facinelli had already pecked Lutz on the cheek earlier in our interview.

Tinsel Korey hought the Pattinson and Lautner kiss was "totally sexy," but Kiowa Gordon said he "puked a little bit" when his onscreen enemies locked lips. BooBoo Stewart had "no comment," but Julia Jones at least "thought it was cute."

All seemed to have been smoothed over by the time Pattinson, Lautner and their co-stars took the stage to accept the Best Movie award, with Lautner teasingly giving his sparkly co-star a knowing look and a quick tap on the chin before throwing his arm around his shoulder. As Rathbone said, those two should be nominated for a special award at next year's Movie Awards for Best Man-On-Man Kiss.

Garrett Hedlund says "Kristen's phenomenal...she's so amazing" in 'On the Road'

Garrett Hedlund says filming the big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic “On The Road” with Kristen Stewart was an unforgettable experience.

“It was wonderful,” he told Access Hollywood at the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards on Saturday.

“It was such an incredible rare journey that we all got to take, so I’m very proud of it. My anticipation is just as high as every body else’s about it,” he explained of the film, based on the legendary beat generation novel where “The Twilight Saga” star plays Marylou and Garret portrays Dean Moriarity.

“Kristen’s phenomenal,” the “Tron: Legacy” star continued. “She’s so focused, especially on this role… she’s so amazing and the world is going to get to really see that in this one.”

The 26-year-old actor is happy that the film will finally hit theaters after taking years to get off the ground.

“I singed on to the role like four years ago and so for the last four years I’ve just been twiddling thumbs trying to get the thing made, and hoping for it to be made and so it’s finally done,” he told Access.

“On The Road” — which also features Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Elisabeth Moss, Steve Buscemi and Terrence Howard — is due for release on December 10, 2011.

Sam Claflin Talks More About Kristen Stewart and 'Snow White and The Huntsman'

PhotobucketMySpace.com You have ‘Snow White and the Huntsmen,’ (opposite Kristen Stewart) how did that come about?
Well, I auditioned for it a while ago, but it just became sort of official like not yesterday, but the day before. I found out a while ago but the offer was there and I’m, you know, very excited about getting sort of my teeth stuck into something new as well.

When you audition for these big parts, are there kind of a group of guys that you know are also going to end up reading for it?
I’ve never bumped into another guy. But Max Irons is a guy I keep sort of seeing around and as much as I love him, I hate him because he usually beats me to it, but I know he’s an incredible actor and I’m honored to know that I’m even being considered next to him, you know, and it’s, I’m very lucky to sort of be in these rooms with these amazing actors, you know. I’m very, very blessed.

What about actresses that you’ve screen tested with?
I’ve screen tested with Amanda Seyfried during ‘Red Riding Hood.’ And Astrid, and I think, that’s it, really.

You didn’t with Kristen for ‘Snow White’?
No. No. I didn’t. Unfortunately not.

Wow.
No.

Read more under the cut

Have you met her?
No. I’m excited to because I’m a big fan of hers.

(I’m genuinely shocked. Can you tell?) That’s crazy that they cast and you guys haven’t even met each other.
It’s a bit crazy.

It says good things that they think highly enough of you to hire you without basically doing a chemistry test.
Yeah,I trust the director’s judgment. I mean, he seems like a genius to me, so I think he knows what he’s doing. I hope he knows what he’s doing. But I’ve heard such amazing thing about Kristen. I have a feeling that there’s no way that we wouldn’t get on, you know, I’d like to think like that anyway. But she’s apparently rumored to be actually amazing. I have a few friends who know her personally and one friend who did ‘The Yellow Handkerchief’ with her, so not a bad word said, so.

I used to work with her dad.
Seriously?

Yeah, so I saw her a bit when she was little, around 12 or so, yeah. And she went from being a child actor and kid’s movies (like ‘Catch That Kid’) to where she is now.
She is THE movie star pretty much of the minute and she’s incredible as well. I mean, I just recently watched ‘The Runaways’ and also I love her in ‘Into The Wild’ as well as, you know, obviously, ‘The Twilight Saga’ but I’m very, very excited.

Are you going to be an English prince or an American prince? Do you know?
I have no idea, actually. I auditioned with an English accent.

Sam Claflin Talks About Kristen On His New Interview!

PhotobucketJJ: Lets talk Snow White!

SC: I’m so excited, from the very beginning of the meetings where I met with the director (Rupert Sanders), he is a genius. I was shown the artwork and some of the costume ideas and the vision. I later saw a three minute trailer that he had put together. He truly is an absolute genius. I have a feeling it is going to be a very special experience.

JJ: Are you excited to work alongside Kristen Stewart?

SC: Oh yeah, I’m a big fan of hers. Not that long ago I watched The Runaways, she’s truly an amazing actress. Even seeing her in Into the Wild, I’m a big fan and the opportunity to work with her will be amazing.

William Hurt Mentions Kristen Stewart: "This is a young, bright, wonderful, talented..."

Photobucket

"She's brave as she can be and I'm defending her whenever I get a chance, and these people who say she's treating the press rudely and stuff like that, I'm going, give her a break, will ya? This is a gutsy woman. This is a young, bright, wonderful, talented, observant... You know? Let her express what she wants to express, why don't ya? Don't, you know, don't put the clamps on her just 'cause she made a big one."

Video: Garrett Hedlund Talks Kristen and Sam Riley

“It’s great. Everybody’s great. I mean Kristen’s such a phenomenal actress and you know I’m so happy for her. And you know I think all of us will kind of agree saying that it was one of the best times of our lives. I mean Sam Riley who’s playing Kerouac in this, you know… incredible. That guy’s gonna be my brother for the rest of my life."

James Woods Talks About Kristen and 'An American Girl'

Photobucket
James Woods talked to Joblo.com on the set of 'Straw Dogs.' And there were mentions of Kristen and 'An American Girl.' along the way.

Director Rod Lurie’s gotten some great performances out of his actors in his other movies. Is that because he lets the actors add stuff, like you mentioned?

I’ve always noticed that the best writer directors, like Oliver Stone and Marty (Scorcese) writing with Nick Peleggi, Rod, the Polish Brothers…ironically the people that write are the people most open to improvisation with actors. The first little film I did, I did a little 7 minute film I wrote, and I was all for everybody trying different things because if it’s better, you know, I get the credit. One thing Rod does, one of his techniques that I absolutely love and that I’m going to borrow if I get to do this film with Kristen Stewart called AN AMERICAN GIRL, and we’re trying to get the financing but of course it’s about a woman who’s a hero in Iraq so who in Hollywood would want to make that movie? … Maybe I’ll make her a lesbian. Juuuust kidding. Just being provocative.

But seriously, Rod’s very good at—he was a critic, so he’s very prolific and voracious watcher and student of films, and he’ll often in a scene borrow a shot or an idea from another great movie. Like he says, “You can call it borrowing, but I guess I’m just stealing.” And then incorporate it and use it to kinda launch that scene. So he’ll pick just a classic shot that you might not have seen in some little foreign movie that works great for us. And I think that’s a great way to work because it's so situational when you make a movie that even if you borrow something…like the tone of our film is much like CAPE FEAR, the Scorsese version. Very big music and kind of odd in-your-face shots, very kind of expressionistic feel to this movie.

Read the rest of the interview under the cut.

You brought up AN AMERICAN GIRL, which started all this. Is that something you’ve written also?
No, no. Tim Metcalfe, who wrote KALIFORNIA and THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT and so on, he had shown me this beautiful script that I bought called AN AMERICAN GIRL. And I called Kristen Stewart before she was famous and said I won’t make this movie with anybody but you. She was Canadian but a wonderful actress and I wanted—

Had you worked with her before?
No, but I knew her because I know Sean (Penn) and she was in INTO THE WILD. And I was talking about directing a movie called WINGED CREATURES that I felt should be cast in a certain way and I tried to buy it from the writer and it got done and it ended up going straight to DVD and the producer wouldn’t listen to me, which is fine. Revenge is sweet. [laughs] But it had a 15 year old girl in it and I called Dennis Quaid and he said I just worked with this girl named Kristen Stewart, and Jodie Foster…they all talked about how fabulous this girl was. I saw her films and I thought she was phenomenal. So I called her up and we talked for an hour. She read the script and she flipped out. If you look at her when she talks in the press and they ask her, "What do you want to do?" She always says, "I want to do AN AMERICAN GIRL. I want to do AN AMERICAN GIRL."

Are you just going to direct it?
Director-producer. She wants me to play her father in it but I don’t want to do that as well because I’ve got a lot to do already.

What’s the movie about?
It's about a young woman who’s really destructive. It's that magical time when you’re Kristen’s age, right after you're out of high school. She was the top swimmer and dive champion in school and all this stuff. Now it's a year later and she lives in a little town in Indiana and the place is dying, rust belt, NAFTA, recession, all that stuff. And she's working in a grocery store and drinking and drugging too much and she's showing off in front of this guy who likes her, and gets involved in a big sex thing with two guys drunk one night at a quarry. And it’s a big inciting incident where she gets taped doing it on somebody's phone and in a small town, her reputation is ruined and on a drunken whim, she joins the Marines, which is ridiculous. The ironic thing is that along the way she starts learning these values she doesn't expect. They're just values like you take your brother, they take care of you. It's not like she's a gung-ho Marine. She starts to sober up and then she starts to do very well and she gets into the Lioness Program because she's smart. The Lioness Program is where they teach these women to speak Arabic, so when they're in combat situations—women in the Muslim world were not comfortable talking to men soldiers but they'd talk to the women soldiers, so these women learned to speak the language and would ask if there were arms or snipers in the house. And she does it. Well, a terrible tragedy happens over there and when she comes back to the town where she was a disaster, she rebuilds her life and finds through this tragedy a greater value in herself. It's COMING HOME, BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES—it's part of that trilogy. It's a phenomenal story and a slam-dunk Oscar script for her.

It’s so not a right wing picture because everybody who reads it—Renee Missel and Jodie Foster read and Renee said, "Oh we’ve gotta call MoveOn.org. This is such a great anti-war picture." The head of the Marine Corps read it and said, "This is such a great marine picture." I said, I’ve finally done it. I’ve found the magical brew.

Why is there trouble getting financing for it?

I’ll tell you what happened. It was just before TWILIGHT came out. I want to tell you how this happened. It’s kind of a fun story. I had just had a terrible personal year. My brother died, God rest his soul, which was the biggest tragedy I could ever imagine. "Shark" got cancelled, which I was fine with because I was just working too hard. I loved the show but it was just… Everything just started happening at once. I had some surgeries. My brother had died. My mom was not doing well. I’d broken up with my girlfriend.

Story...

So I pull in to a Holiday Inn. It’s f*cking raining sideways. I’ll never forget, it was 20 minutes to 10 on a Wednesday night. Freemont, Indiana. I go to this Bennigan’s down the road to get something to eat. And this is a commercial for the iPhone. I’m sitting at Bennigan’s just twiddling my phone and I check my email and there’s the PDF of the script from Tim Metcalfe. And it was too small to read on the phone but I thought I’ll just see what the title is. I see AN AMERICAN GIRL and I f*cking love that title. I say, "Well, I’m going to read one page.” 119 pages later I’ve got f*cking tears coming down my face. I call Tim and I go "What are you doing?" And he said, "Well, I’m 54 years old and I’m married and it’s 2:30 in the morning in Vermont: I’m getting blown by the Rockettes, what the f*ck do you think I’m doing? I’m sleeping next to my wife who’s really pissed off you're calling." I said, "Tim just so you know, I’m directing and producing this movie. That’s all there is to it." He said, "Well I sent it to Jodie Foster" and I said, "I love Jodie, she’s a friend of mine. She’s not making this movie. I’m directing this movie." We talk for 5 hours and we worked it out. I paid for it out of my own pocket and I called Kristen Stewart.

Actually I called my casting director from "Shark," Rick Millikan and I said "Rick, do me a favor. Who’s Kristen Stewart’s agent?" And he said “Ken Kaplan at Girsch.” Now I was at CAA at the time. Hadn’t had a job in 10 years. Just kidding… So I said, "Okay, call Ken Kaplan. Tell him that Jimmy Woods has a script that’s an Academy Award part for the girl, but of course Ellen Page will probably get it. (Because it was right at the time of JUNO.) But slip it to him and say you better read this, because if you’re client hasn’t had a chance to read it and Ellen Page wins an Oscar, it’s not going to be good. But whatever you do, don’t let anybody know you read it because you know Jimmy Woods; he’s a lunatic." So he calls him up and her agent says, "No, no. She’s not going to do an independent film" and he says, "You don’t want to have to explain to her like how Jimmy Wood’s agent had to explain why he was never told about RESERVOIR DOGS at CAA." It’s a legendary story. So he says, "Yeah you’re right." He reads it and he calls Rick back he says "Aw, shit. She’s going to want to do this movie."

So he sets up a conversation and she calls me. And I said, "I’m going to give you ownership of the film, because I own the film. You will be my partner in every way on this movie. So feel free to say what you want." And she says, "Oh my God, thank you. I love this movie."

And we spent months together working on the script. The greatest thing I’ve ever heard in my career, she said, "Why am I enjoying this so much? I’ve never been treated this way. You treat me like an equal." I said, "Who understands the mind of a 19 year old girl better than you. You're 19, you’re a girl, but you're an artist as well. You’re at that perfect stage.” And she’s so smart and worked so hard. I wanted her to meet the writer just so he could hear her voice. She was supposed to meet them for 5 minutes. She stayed for 4 hours. She’s absolutely committed.

Sam Claflin Talks About Kristen - "She seems like an absolute legend of a girl"

Movieline Lastly, regarding Snow White and the Huntsman: Have you yet met with Kristen Stewart?
No!

So there was no chemistry read, you were cast separately for your roles?
No, but from my understanding she seems like an absolute legend of a girl. I have a friend who worked with her, my friend Eddie Redmayne, and he says she’s really down to earth, really talented. She’s so talented, I’m a big fan of hers. So fingers crossed there’ll be chemistry. But no, I didn’t have the opportunity to meet her, which is a bit of a shame.

Sam Claflin Talks About SWATH, Kristen & Rob

Sam Claflin will be the Prince to Kristen's Snow White in 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and he talks to Screenrant about the love triangle between the Prince, Snow White, and the Huntsman (presumably played by Chris Hemsworth):

As to whether a love-triangle between the three is inherent in the script Claflin replied:
“Not necessarily. I don’t want to divulge too much into it, but no…It’s  still early days, I mean they’re set to start shooting not too far away – at the same time, who knows what can happen in a short space of time. I think a lot depends on the casting. At the same time, I believe that the director (Rupert Sanders) is a genius, he’s an absolute genius, and I know he’s working very, very hard at getting the final script down and ready as well as the final castings.

Given the comparisons to Twilight, we felt compelled to inquire if Claflin (who provided a generous and diplomatic response) is a fan of the franchise.
“Honestly I’ve only ever seen the first one, and it’s not because I’m not a fan, it’s just
because I…I did enjoy the first one and I’m a fan of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and
everyone involved. So, with the new movies coming out, I’m looking forward to seeing all of
them (the films) as a whole.”

Ashley Greene Talks About Doing Own Stunts in "Breaking Dawn"

The cast of "The Twilight Saga" is many things -- young, exceedingly attractive, impressively talented -- but are they stuntmen and women?

Apparently so, according to Ashley Greene.

When NextMovie sat down to discuss her upcoming film, "Skateland," she confessed that she and the rest of gang -- yep, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner too -- were ambitious when it came to doing their own daring battle tricks for "Breaking Dawn."

"They're working with special effects but actually our cast as a whole is pretty athletic," she tells NextMovie exclusively. "Everyone really wants to be able to do their own stunts. We all worked really hard to do as much as production would possibly allow us do insurance-wise.

"A lot of what you see will actually be us doing it."

She couldn't go into further detail about what all that entailed, but we're guessing it means she'll be doing quite a bit of running, jumping and pouncing on members of the Volturi army. In other words, Bring. It. On.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" doesn't hit theaters until Nov. 18, but you can see Ashley in "Skateland" this weekend. To help you pass the time, here's a full gallery of all the official images from "Breaking Dawn."

Sam Claflin Talks About Kristen & "Snow White and the Huntsman"

British newcomer Sam Claflin hits the black carpet for his first ever premiere for “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” at Disneyland where the chats with Access’ Shaun Robinson about being a part of this amazing movie. Plus, Sam talks about playing the prince to Kristen Stewart’s “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

"Im a big fan. I've seen the 'Twilight' films, I've seen 'The Runaways', I've seen her in 'Into the Wild', I'm a huge fan. I'm very honored and privileged."

Shaun: "Let me just tell you that her fans are pretty dedicated!"
Sam: "I won't let them down."

Aw I like Prince Charming already ;)

New Rob Interview With "Gala" (Germany) with Kristen Mention

gala.de| Translation thnks to SparklingCullen

Do you remember the last time you have been incognito?
When has it been? Oh yeah, recently at a dinner. I was told at the reception that there’s a table with 18 persons next to mine. I thought knee-jerked “Oh no, a gaggle of teenagers?”. There have been 18 Asian kids but none knew me. I had the most relaxing dinner for ages.

If you compare your life as a megastar with one of a guy from London who makes a night of, what are you missing most?
To meet new people. It sounds strange when somebody with my profession says this but I mean really get known new people. Mostly, I’m asking myself twice if I can trust people so the most relationships stay casually.

Whom did you adore when you were a teenager?
Puppy love wasn’t my thing. Maybe Arsenal London but that’s it.

Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz have an OSCAR at home, you are known as a teenage-swarm. How could you assert yourself?
It was very easy. You should always work with the best, it’s easy for you then. Reese and Christoph have been a kind of insurance package.

In your movies, you’re suffering all the time. Must love always hurt?
When you look at my character in WfE, of course! Nearly every time I kiss Reese I get hurt afterwards (laughs)

You have a liability to complicated relationships in your movies. A vampire who is doomed to virginity, a keeper who’s in love with his boss’ wife…
It’s a mere chance! A love story doesn’t have to have a happy end but to a life-long friendship. Everything else is a cliché and I’m bored about it.

Don’t you like the idea of a romantic, the absolute love?
Oh yeah, definitely. In the movies the people have always to work very hard to be happy in the end. In the real life it’s happening very easy and you abandon oneself for love.

How does a woman have to be, to conquer your heart?
Puh. I always had a crush on girls who don’t like me. I like if someone is intelligent, talented and ambitious.

 Like Kristen Stewart?
 (smiles and silence)

More after the JUMP!
Reese Witherspoon is supposed to disliked the love scences with you…
Hm, maybe Reese was just not turned on? No, I think it was because she was close to her wedding and she didn’t want to have something with another guy.

Would it stir you to have something going on with a married women?
No, I’m not the guy who would steal somebody else’ girl.

Was it more easy to get body contact with your other co-star?
Tai is really different from how you’re imagine an elephant, she’s incredible. So deliberate and careful. Once, she nearly lied on my without even touching me, although she could have smashed me with one single move. I think she has deformed me for all co-stars to come. Just babies and animals are so selfless in front of a camera. Amongst adult actors is always a kind of comprehension.

Are you talking about Christoph Waltz?
No, I swear: Christoph is the funniest guy you can imagine. No reason to be nervous. He always asked: Can Robert Pattinson really act? He always defends me, you see, he’s a great guy (laughs)

What do you think, why do people still think you’re a not-talented teenie star?
That’s the way it is. When you’re successful you’ve to pay for it. Because Twilight has been this successful I’ve to prove for the next 10 years that I can act as another guy than Edward.

You can easily receive the impression that you are a bit unconfident and that you have to justify for your success. Why is that?
Often, I don’t know what to answer on special questions. Do you have an idea? “How do you feel a the sexiest man alive?” How should I? Like a complete idiot! Maybe I have luck compared to my female colleagues. I think they have to answer much more “sexy-questions” than I have to.

Just ask Brad Pitt…
You’re right. What I mean is that it belongs to women, they can play each character anyway. When an actor is named to be a sex-symbol it’s kind of a bane because nobody take you seriously afterwards.

Actually, you’re in an enviable position: the biggest heartthrob in the world, apart from Justin Bieber.
It's in comprehensible how I could be named in the same category with him! I respect Justin Bieber but we’re from totally different poles. I really can’t understand how I could ever call the same emotions he does. Probably I belong to the same target audience but I didn’t ever wanted the fame.

But you became famous, what are doing with it now?
I’m sitting in hotel rooms and play “fall down” on my iPhone to delirium. A ridiculous waste of time, you don’t need any part of your brain, you just have to roll the little ball around. I can play it about 16hrs.

 Awful!
I also download films but I don’t have more than 20 min. to concentrate on it at the moment. Mostly I fall asleep.

Are you suffering on stress? Burn-out?
No, I’m just tired all the time. I’m sort of stand-by-mode when I don’t work.

You’re most of your time on the way, anyway you’ve adopted a dog from a animal shelter. Isn’t your life kind of unsettled to look after a puppy?
I thought this too, but I realized a set is a the perfect area for a dog. There’re at least 100 persons for his entertainment all the time. When I have free time I’ll team him in my trailer.

Which tricks can he do already?
After one day he was house-trained, with age of 9 week he could come for a stave, he’s a genius. Maybe because he is a mongrel and got all the best from his forefathers.

Maybe you should become a dog-whisperer?
No, I have already one of my three dream jobs.

 What are the other two?
Pianist in a hotel lobby at the Riviera or politician.

At least something in the spotlight?
Every actor is egoistic, for sure. On the other hand I’m doing this for myself. You always learn incredible much.

What’s your dream character to play? Maybe a bad guy what Christoph Waltz likes to play?
Finally, I can shoot someone in my next movie. I’d like to do this for ages: Just go into the office in the morning and….boom

Jodie Foster Mentions Kristen

ScottFeinberg.Com Jodie Foster on maintaining privacy as a public person today

“I’m at a different place in my career than somebody who’s 22 — Kristen Stewart [Foster's co-star in "Panic Room" (2002)] for example. I mean, I’m at a very different place than she is, and it was very different when I was her age… I feel for people now. I don’t know that I would survive it now, and I’m pretty sure that if I was given a choice — with all of the information that I have, if I was an actress now at 18 — I think I would say, ‘No, thank you.’”

People's Most Beautiful of 2011: Beautiful at Every Age - Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart, 21 When you think Valley girl the Twilight star, who plays tortured loner Bella Swan, doesn't exactly come to mind. And you won't catch this California native slaving over the latest fashion and beauty trends. "I think it's ridiculous that you need to look a certain way to be conventionally pretty," she declares.

Stephenie Meyer Talks About Working with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, 'Breaking Dawn' and more.

VANCOUVER, B.C. — When Stephenie Meyer walks into a room of Twilight fans, there's no doubt she's their undisputed vampire queen.

* Basking in Twilight: Stephenie Meyer's The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide arrives April 12.

Ten lucky Twilight fans from around the world have come to this metropolitan Canadian city to meet the mega-selling author whose young-adult novels about an alluring vampire and his human soul mate have entranced them since 2005.

It's hard to say who's enjoying this total Twilight talkfest more — the attendees or the writer.

"I just love having the chance to sit down with a small group of fans," says Meyer, who is looking a little more Hollywood these days and a bit less like a suburban mom of three. "Bigger events are just too nerve-racking."

For this literary star, the days of chatting with a few fans at a local bookstore are over. Meyer is an international celebrity. Her books sell in dozens of countries. The film versions are hotly anticipated. Fan sites have gone viral.

This two-day chat fest with Meyer, which took place last Friday and Saturday, was a top-secret affair. Even the attendees weren't told where in the world they'd be meeting with Meyer until after they were notified they were among the chosen 10.

But every Twilight fan intuitively knows why Vancouver, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, is a logical meeting place — the cast and crew of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2, the final movies based on the four-book series, have been filming here since mid-February.

In roundtable discussions with Meyer at a Vancouver hotel, the winners discuss with finesse and endless authority vampire anatomy, werewolf legends, the back stories of the series' minor characters and, of course, the Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle. (Jacob is the werewolf who also loves Bella and is played in the films by the often shirtless Taylor Lautner.)

But like seasoned journalists (many of these fans blog about the series), they're also here to ferret out juicy details: When will Meyer publish a new novel? What's it like being on the Twilight film set? What's new in The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, a 543-page encyclopedic companion that Little, Brown will publish in hardcover for $24.99 on April 12? (The e-book will be available for $11.99 on April 13.)
Meyer, relaxed and happy to share, tells them plenty:

•On the illustrated guide: "My favorite part is the vampire histories. There's a lot there that's new. Alice's (Cullen) back story is one no one has known until now. And I think fans will be surprised at how much fun (Cullen nemesis) Victoria's story is."

•On whether she'll ever write more books about Edward and Bella: "The story's already been told, and I doubt I'll ever write another series based on the same characters."

•On the possibility she'd ever finish Midnight Sun, a Twilight novel told from Edward's viewpoint that she nixed when parts of it were leaked online in 2008: "I'm hoping to do it someday because I know that's what people want. No matter what book I put out from here to eternity they'll want Midnight Sun, but I'm just not writing about vampires right now."
What Meyer says about the filming of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, which because of the expansive story line is being told in two parts. (Part 1 is scheduled for release Nov. 18 and Part 2 in November 2012):

•The much-anticipated wedding of Edward and Bella has not been filmed yet, but Stewart is being fitted for the as-yet-unrevealed bridal gown. "It's such an interesting mix," says Meyer. "It has a vintage feel, but at the same time, there's an edge to it. It's really beautiful. And then on Kristen — oh, she looks amazing in clothes —and in that dress she's so lithe and unbelievable."

•On working with Pattinson and Lautner: "Rob is more like Jacob than Edward. He's goofy, he's funny, he doesn't take much seriously. But he can turn Edward on like that (she snaps her fingers) when he needs to be Edward. Taylor's who we hang out with most. He's a lot like fun, happy Jacob."

•On her expanded role as co-producer of the two new movies: "The big difference is just being there and seeing everything. I feel I've seen so much of the movie and really understand what it will look like. There are still a lot of compromises. That hasn't changed. It doesn't make a huge difference, but I have a producer credit, which is crazy."
Some mysteries remain

One question she won't answer: whether the werewolf/shape shifter Jacob and Renesmee, the human/vampire hybrid child of Edward and Bella, could ever have children. (Jacob is a teenager, but baby Renesmee is aging at an accelerated rate.) "That is a question I'm reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I'll go back to their story."

Not having to worry about or miss her family has allowed her to spend the time she needs on set. She talks about the production with the caveat that everything and anything about it can change.

Fans, says Meyer, can expect a surprising performance when Stewart transforms from human to vampire. "She's created a new character. I was really impressed. I've only really seen her as (the human) Bella, so to have her step up and change it in the right way — she didn't have to talk to me. She knew. She knows the character so well now. She has really good instincts, and she looks amazing."

Meyer says the first Breaking Dawn movie may end "when Bella opens her eyes as a vampire. That's the way it's been shot. They can still do it any other way, but I think that's the general idea. You kind of have to get there in the first film. That way you have all the time in the world to explore being a vampire and those exhilarating first moments."
It hasn't hit her yet

On the filming of the birth of Bella and Edward's baby, Renesmee, which in the novel is frightening and horrific, she says, "I've only seen a rough cut and there are pieces missing, but I don't feel like it's graphic. You're not seeing it, but you know what's happened. It's emotional. It doesn't feel horror-ish. There's blood, probably the most blood we've ever seen in the series. But everything's in flux; we'll see in the final cut."

With the second Breaking Dawn movie not out until 2012, Meyer's emotional connection to the Twilight world will be an intimate one for months to come. She's waiting for the moment when the finality of it hits.

"I don't know when it's going to get me," she says, "but I know it will, and at that point I'm going to be a sobbing mess on the floor."
